Gmc Trucks Back Tailgate Recall. A recall for more than 323,200 chevrolet silverado and gmc sierra hd pickups is out over the risk of unwanted tailgate openings. General motors (gm) expanded a recall first announced in early february to include 820,000 pickup trucks with tailgates that may unexpectedly open while parked.

General motors is recalling about 820,000 pickup trucks including newer chevrolet silverados and gmc sierras over an issue that causes the tailgate to unlatch. Dealers will replace the exterior switch that opens the tailgate with material that is more water resistant.
